The Conference is hosted by Sultan Qaboos University located at Muscat the Capital of the Sultanate of Oman. Muscat is an ancient city characterized by a unique civilization which also reflects the Arabian and Islamic influences. It gained its importance from its location at the entrance to the Gulf waters and flourished as a center of the marine route network connecting the most important ports of Asia, Arabia and East Africa.

It has managed to retain strong links with its traditional heritage and has developed its own very distinct style in its modern architecture.
